The house
A new architectural gem, built into the top of the hill so it seems to belong there. Four bedrooms, three baths and several places to sit and do nothing at all — each one turned toward the mountains and the vines. Walls of glass pull the valley inside. Interior gardens and a fireplace keep it warm when the desert cools. It is private, it is quiet, and it books quickly.

The view
Sightlines that never stop at a wall.
The house was drawn around what you can see. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the great room, the kitchen and the primary suite mean the Valle de Guadalupe is always part of the day — vineyards in the morning, gold on the hills at five, a sky that turns rose and then violet before the stars come out.
Inside
Warm wood, natural stone, a deep and settled quiet.
Timber ceilings, plaster, stone and linen — an open great room where the kitchen, dining and living blend into one long space made for a group to spread out. Every bedroom is its own retreat; every bath is sculptural and calm. This is a house you settle into, not one you tiptoe around.

The valley eats extraordinarily well. Deckman's en El Mogor built the farm-to-table scene; Finca Altozano and Animalón, both from chef Javier Plascencia, cook over wood under the open sky; Corazón de Tierra and the Michelin-starred Fauna are destinations in their own right. Reservations matter here — give us a few days' notice and we will hold the table.

Harvest is the high season.
Late July through August brings the Fiestas de la Vendimia — weeks of harvest events, tastings and long lunches that have run for more than thirty-five years. Spring and fall are quieter and green; winter is cool and clear, and the house lights its fire. There is no wrong month on this hill, only different light.

How do we reserve?
Availability and rates are managed on Airbnb; reserve there and your dates are locked. Once they are set, the concierge takes over — chef, wineries, transfers, spa.
How far is it from San Diego?
About two hours by car: cross at San Ysidro and take the coast road south, or fly into Tijuana (TIJ) and drive roughly ninety minutes along the Ruta del Vino. Ensenada is about half an hour down the hill. We can arrange a private transfer either way.
Is the house really private?
Yes. Casa Finch sits alone on its own hilltop with no neighbors in sight — the pool, terraces, fire pit and yard are yours alone. Self check-in is by keypad, so you arrive on your own schedule.
What can the concierge arrange?
A private chef at the house, spa treatments, transport and a driver for the day, and winery and restaurant reservations across the valley. Send a note once your dates are set and we will plan around them.
Can we work from the house?
There is a dedicated workspace and fast Wi-Fi, split heating and cooling in the rooms, and a washer and dryer at no charge — long stays are welcome.
